Captain's Drive-In Postponment

Dear Members,

Despite the best efforts of David and his team the course will be closed for the weekend.

Unfortunately the weather has won the battle and therefore the Captains’ Drive in will be cancelled again this weekend. As there is no suitable date remaining, it is unlikely that a specific drive-in scramble event will now occur this year but we will certainly organize a date to tee-off and launch the season.

I have it on a good authority that our captains were confident of a combined 500 yards off the ceremonial tee box but alas that will have to wait!

Kind regards,

Ian O'Shaughnessy

Hon. Secretary

Captains Charity - Sept 24th

Dear Member,
As is now tradition for the Captain of Tulfarris Golf Club I will be hosting a
Charity Fundraising Day on Sunday September 24th 2017. The two charities
that I have chosen to support on the day are as follows:
 Féileacáin – Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland
 MS Ireland
These are two charities that have provided immense support to members of my
family over the course of the last few years. I would like to use the Charity
Fundraising Day to help both charities continue providing support to parents
when they are faced with the unimaginable tragedy of losing a child and to the
countless number of people who are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The Fundraiser
The format for the Charity Fundraising Day will be as follows:
 4 Person Team Event – the Captain’s Yellow Peril
It will be a Four Person team event at a cost of €100 per line. It will be 3
stableford scores to count – and one of the scores must be the ‘yellow team ball’.
The yellow team ball will be rotated among the 4 team members throughout the
round. If the yellow team ball is lost at any point during the round then the team
can only use the best two stableford scores for the purposes of the team
competition. The longer you keep the yellow team ball, the better your chance of
winning the team prize! Full rules and details will be provided on the day.
 Singles Stableford Competition – Optional
Alongside the team event will be an optional singles stableford competition that
will be open to all team members who play on the day and the cost of entry into
this will be €5.00 per person. There will also be prizes for the singles stableford
Tee times will be available on the day from 07:20am and you can book a line
through the BRS system or by contacting Norma in the Pro-Shop.

can you let me know and also send your company details / logo for inclusion on

I hope you can support the Charity Fundraising Day as I hope to raise as much as
possible for these two important charities.
